Product Details

๐ŸŒŸSince the 1990s, the role of Doormen has evolved significantly. Unfortunately, many individuals today lack the essential skills to perform the job adequately and many blame the SIA for this๐ŸŒŸ

The reality is that a significant portion of the responsibility lies with the training providers who churned out no hopers just to make a bob or two and in October 2021 the SIA stepped in and decided that every Security Officer, Door Supervisor or Close Protection Operative needed some form of Top-Up training.

Not really knowing how to react in a medical crisis was simply unacceptable, as were the evident gaps in understanding among most individuals in the following areas:

๐Ÿ“Œ Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry

๐Ÿ“Œ Principles of Using Equipment as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry

๐Ÿ“Œ Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry

You will be vigorously tested on these subjects in a proctored exam setting, so intensive study materials will be provided to you before attending the class if you decide to sign up.

In the UK, door supervisors are crucial in safeguarding the welfare of both patrons and staff in settings such as bars, nightclubs, or events. This role requires a special kind of proficiency and customer service skills. It's not a position suited for the faint-hearted, the inactive, or those with an excessive sense of self-importance.

๐Ÿ’กAccess to the SIA 'Top-up' Training course, requires candidates to demonstrate both numeracy and literacy abilities, as well as proficiency in written and spoken English. The role's demands, such as coordinating with emergency personnel and managing disputes, necessitate strong communication skills.

๐Ÿ’กFirst Aid Certification: Candidates must possess a valid First Aid certificate compliant with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 standards. It's compulsory for training centres to verify each attendee's First Aid or Emergency First Aid qualification.

These thorough criteria have been designed to ensure that professionals in the private security industry are sufficiently equipped for their roles. It's a prerequisite for participants to provide their First Aid certification to the training institution before the course begins. This certification must remain in effect for at least a year from the course's commencement.

Should this not be the case when you apply, we are authorized to present an appropriate First Aid course in tandem with the security course as an integrated training solution where all aspects of the First Aid training should be finalized beforehand.
