This rigorous training program, co-developed by Gavin Richardson, is designed for professionals aiming to teach physical intervention skills that are essential for close protection roles in the private security sector, as it ought to be.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF)
  • Level 3 Award in Delivery of Conflict Management Training (RQF)
  • Level 3 Award for Deliverers of Physical Intervention Training (RQF)
  • A valid Level 3 First Aid Certificate, with at least 12 months validity remaining

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):

Current holders of the Level 3 Award for Deliverers of Physical Intervention Training in the Private Security Industry (RQF) can apply the Level 3 teaching unit from this qualification towards this program as RPL (Recognized Prior Learning).

The curriculum for the Level 3 Award in Delivering Physical Intervention Training for Close Protection Operatives covers:

The legal, health and safety, and professional implications of physical intervention, including the legal aspects of force use.

The acquisition and instruction of physical intervention skills, such as disengagement and holding techniques, tailored to close protection.

Customizing physical intervention training to meet the specific needs of close protection operatives, with attention to their unique operational environments.

The fundamentals of teaching and learning as they pertain to physical intervention skills, focusing on effective strategies.

The assessment process combines practical evaluations, written work, and teaching sessions, showcasing your teaching prowess and ability to support learners facing challenges.

Upon completing this qualification, trainers will be certified to offer physical intervention training suitable for the close protection industry, assuming they maintain an active license.

An annual licensing fee of £250 is chargeable to utilize our highly acclaimed SIA-approved model subject to refresher training.
